Mali Lošinj is a
town on the Croatian island of Lošinj, in the northern Adriatic Sea.
It’s known for its large natural harbor which has a broad promenade.
The Museum of Lošinj, in the 19th-century Fritzi Palace, displays
Italian baroque and modern Croatian paintings. The Museum of
Apoxyomenos exhibits a well-preserved 1st- or 2nd-century-B.C.
bronze statue of an athlete, recovered from the sea bed.
The small Church
of St. Martin, in a graveyard, dates back to the 15th century. The
Lošinj Aromatic Garden has a wide array of local island plants and
medicinal herbs. To the west, Čikat Bay is popular with windsurfers.
It’s also home to an underwater park for divers, with replicas of
16th-century cannons, the Apoxyomenos statue and ancient amphorae.
Nearby, the Sea Turtle Rescue Centre cares for endangered animals
and has educational exhibits. The Promenade of Vitality and Lošinj
Transversal hiking trails wind around Mali Lošinj and offer sweeping
views of the town and neighboring islands.

Čikat
is a cove on the island of Lošinj and a part of the town
of Mali Lošinj. It stretches from the church of the Annunciation in the
south to the hotel Kredo in the north. On the west the cove open to the
Adriatic sea, while to the east it borders with town centre of Mali
Lošinj. |

Vele Srakane
is an island in the Croatian part of Adriatic Sea. It is
situated between Lošinj, Unije and Susak, just north of Male Srakane.
Its area is 1.15 kmē, and it has a population of 3, down from 8 in 2001.
Highest peak is Vela straža, 59 meters high. |
