Korčula make it the second most populous
Adriatic island after Krk and the most populous Croatian island not
connected to the mainland by a bridge. The population are almost
entirely ethnic Croats. The island is twinned with Rothesay in Scotland.

Badija
is the largest island in archipelago Škoji, near Korčula island in
Croatia. The island is currently unpopulated. Franciscans from Bosnia
came into possession of the island in 1398. They held it until 1949,
when it was expropriated by the communist authorities.
The Vela Spila
cave is situated above the town of Vela Luka on the
island of Korčula, in Croatia on Pinski Rat hill at an elevation of
approximately 130 m. The cave consists of an elliptically shaped cavern
that measures 40 m in length, 17 m in height, and is approximately 40 m
wide.
The Cathedral of St. Mark
also called Korčula Cathedral, is the Roman Catholic cathedral of
Korčula, Croatia. It was built by local masters from the fifteenth
century to the mid-sixteenth century. It is at the forefront of the
city, at the top of the peninsula. In 1557, an organ was placed in the
cathedral.
